What Is Morse Code?
Morse code is a method of transmitting text information as a series of on-off tones, lights, or clicks that can be directly understood by a skilled listener or observer without special equipment. It was developed by Samuel Morse and Alfred Vail in the 1830s and 1840s for their new invention, the telegraph. The code uses standardized sequences of two different signal durations, called dots and dashes or dits and dahs. The duration of a dash is three times the duration of a dot. Each letter, numeral, and punctuation mark is represented by a unique sequence of dots and dashes. For example, the letter 'A' is represented by '.-' (dot-dash), and the letter 'B' is represented by '-...' (dash-dot-dot-dot). This tool allows you to convert any text into Morse code and customize the output format to suit your needs.
